Using the converter

JXLconverter.org offers browser-based conversion of supported images to JPEG XL. Use the service only with images you have permission to process and in accordance with applicable law.

Ownership of files

You retain your rights in your input images and converted files. Converting an image does not grant the website ownership of it.

Conversion limitations

Results depend on the source file, quality setting, browser and device resources. Outputs may be larger than originals. This tool creates still, 8-bit sRGB JXL images and does not preserve animation, HDR or original metadata. Lossless mode preserves decoded pixels, not the original file or JPEG bitstream.

Keep your originals

Keep backup copies of original images and inspect converted files before relying on them. JPEG XL compatibility varies between applications and browsers.

Availability and responsibility

The tool is provided as available, without a promise of uninterrupted operation, compatibility with every file or a specific compression result. These terms do not exclude rights or protections that cannot be excluded under applicable law.

Changes and questions

Features and these terms may change as the website develops. Questions can be directed through the Contact page .
